Hope’s community hub, the Memorial Community Center and Preschool, is hosting its annual lakeside Bodacious BBQ fundraiser Saturday, July 20 at 4:30 p.m.
The event includes a savory brisket dinner from the Pack River Store with sides from Sweet Lou’s Restaurant and Bar; a beer, wine and margarita bar; auction items like a boat rental, gift certificates to local restaurants and shops and a two-night stay at the Coeur d’Alene Resort; and the chance to spend an evening at the historic Litehouse beach property in Hope, located at 46242 Highway 200.
Tickets are $60, and proceeds go toward MCC’s year-round programs and services. The building is home to Hope Preschool and the annual Christmas Giving program, among other weekly classes and support groups.
“You can help an area 4-year-old prepare for kindergarten,” said MCC Executive Director Carolyn Speelmon. “You can ensure that an area 12-year-old will have Christmas gifts and a Christmas dinner. You can help provide an area 18-year-old with a much needed college scholarship [and], you can support a place of community where we can exercise, quilt or attend AA Meetings.”
To purchase tickets, visit the MCC or call Speelmon at 208-264-5481 Tuesday-Thursday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tickets are also available online at memorialcommunitycenter.com.
