Want to support independent, locally owned community journalism?
The news, opinion, humor, entertainment and cultural reporting in the Sandpoint Reader is freely available to everyone – both in our weekly print newspaper that we distribute at more than 200 locations every Thursday, or right here every day on our website.
At a time when many newspapers are erecting paywalls, the Reader is committed to maintaining free and open access to community journalism. But of course, it DOES take money to produce the Reader each week to cover the cost of our offices, computers, printing, distribution – and most importantly, our professional journalists for whom this is their livelihood. If you appreciate the value of an independent local news source, consider making a voluntary contribution.
The Reader is owned in a partnership between Publisher Ben Olson and Keokee Co. Publishing, the media company owned by Chris Bessler that also publishes Sandpoint Magazine and Sandpoint Online. Sandpoint Reader LLC is a completely independent business unit; no big newspaper group or corporate conglomerate or billionaire owner dictates our editorial policy.
We’re determined to keep it that way, and to the continued free access to our newspaper. But if you’re a regular reader who appreciates the value of the free press – and you have the means to chip in even a little – you can help keep alive true community journalism for our town.
And if the only way you can support us is by visiting our website or picking up our paper to get the latest local news – we appreciate that even more. Without our readers, there would be no Reader! Thank you for your continued patronage.
