Dear Editor:
I feel compelled to respond to “Deep Thoughts” by Jack Handey from Aug. 16.
In the past, I knew his “Deep Thoughts” were stupid, but I can ignore stupid.
This week’s “Deep Thoughts” article was beyond stupid. It was a mean and irreverent article.
You aren’t “cute” to tell a child that “rain” is God crying, and he’s crying because you did something (implying wrongdoing by the child).
God would not cry — he would reach out his hand and help!
