By Reader Staff

Cowboys, cowgirls and thrill-seekers are all invited to the annual Sandpoint Rodeo on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7-8 at the Bonner County Fairgrounds (4203 N. Boyer Road).

The action-packed weekend begins at 7:30 p.m. both nights and includes top equestrian athletes participating in delicate and daunting feats, all verified by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Women’s Professional Rodeo Association.

“Join us for an action-packed event that showcases the skills and bravery of our talented rodeo athletes,” stated organizers. “Get ready to witness heart-stopping bull rides, lightning-fast barrel racing and jaw-dropping roping skills.”

The weekend’s events will include highly competitive bareback riding, saddled bronco riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping and barrel racing. All in all, winners will walk away with $17,500 in prize money for their performances.

Admission is $26, and children under 2 years old get in for free. Visit sandpointbonnercountyrodeo.com to purchase tickets and read up on the rodeo’s entry policy, which prohibits large bags, hazardous materials and outside alcohol, among other things.
