POAC kicks off Performing Arts Season with Luca Stricagnoli concert

The Pend Oreille Arts Council recently announced the lineup for its 2026 Performing Arts Season. The monthslong series kicks off with a special concert with acoustic rock innovator and fingerstyle guitar virtuoso Luca Stricagnoli from 7-9:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 at The Hive (207 N. First Ave., in downtown Sandpoint).

With his music videos exceeding 200 million views and a tour schedule that takes him to every corner of the globe, Stricagnoli is considered one of the most unique guitarists in the world.

His creative style, which led him to invent instruments like the reversed triple neck guitar and the reversed slide neck, both of which have contributed to the modern evolution of the acoustic guitar.

Stricagnoli’s music has grabbed the attention of noteworthy bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and Walk Off The Earth.

Starting his career at just 10 years old, Stricagnoli studied classical guitar and later attended the Conservatory, the most prestigious music school in Italy.

Developing a unique fingerpicking style, he began winning competitions around the world.

Today, Stricagnoli is known for his innovative technique. Utilizing violin bows, multiple guitars at one, modified capos and unusual tunings, a Stricagnoli performance always leaves audiences stunned.
