In a Landscape: Classical Music in the Wild features grand piano selections atop Schweitzer Mountain

Classical music often conjures images of swanky concert halls, tuxedos and evening gowns, but Schweitzer has a different take on the genre.

Back by popular demand, In a Landscape: Classical Music in the Wild returns to Schweitzer from 3-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30.

Founded in 2016 by classical pianist Hunter Noack, In a Landscape is an outdoor concert series in which America’s most stunning landscapes replace the traditional concert hall. The piano travels the country on a flatbed trailer and sets up wherever the scenery takes your breath away.

Noack will play a 1912 Steinway Model D concert grand piano atop the summit at Schweitzer, with audience members encouraged to wander the natural environment while listening to the music through wireless headphones.

It’s an immersive experience that fosters an important connection with music, nature and one another.

General admission tickets are $96.91, while season pass holders pay $70.39, including all fees and taxes.
