Fruition to play The Hive

The best bands are the ones that are most difficult to categorize.

On the surface, Portland, Ore.-based Fruition might seem like it would fit under the Americana umbrella, until you realize it’s much more complicated than that.

Playing anything from Americana to gospel to blues and folk — with some elements of bluegrass peppered in for good measure — Fruition is one of those bands you’ll see live and nod your head, saying, “Now this is a good band.” 

Whether it’s the swirling, joyous vocals of Mimi Naja or incendiary guitar licks from Jay Cobb Anderson, the juicy piano chops of Kellen Asebroek, the foundational tones of bassist Jeff Leonard or the driving beat of drummer Tyler Thompson, Fruition knows what the hell they’re doing. Their songs are filled with fun, and the band genuinely enjoys their performances as much as audiences do.
