Sandpoint Summer Series continues with The Jauntee

Three words will always be welcome in a small town like Sandpoint: “free outdoor music.”

For the third installment of the Sandpoint Summer Series, Colorado-based four-piece band The Jauntee will take the stage at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13 at Farmin Park in downtown Sandpoint.

Originally hailing from Boston, The Jauntee now plays out of Colorado. The band’s unique blend of jazz, funk, rock and psychedelic jams are perfect for the outdoor concert series presented by Mattox Farm Productions. 

Popular on the festival circuit, The Jauntee has always enjoyed taking the stage and sharing their music with fans. Known for energetic live performances, The Jauntee’s first gig in Sandpoint was at the 219 Lounge in 2024, where they surely gained a few more followers.

Guitarist and vocalist Caton Sollenberger then told the Reader, “The Pacific Northwest vibe is right up our alley.”

The Jauntee released Anything on July 14, which is their first studio album in five years.

The free outdoor concert series — dubbed “Odd Nights Out,” as performances take place on odd days in August and September — is funded entirely by local sponsors. Sponsors include the Pend Oreille Arts Council, Sandpoint Hotel and Suites, Skyright Roofing and Washington Trust Bank. Event sponsors are the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, Kester’s Kreations, KPND and North Root Architecture. 

Critical partners include the Heartwood Center, the Novas of Evergreen Realty, Sandpoint Reader and Travis Harmon Construction.
