The hunt for a new Lake Pend Oreille School District Superintendent begins with the announcement that Shawn Woodward is moving to Mead School District in Washington State.

Shawn Woodward.

Mead School District announced the move on their website last week, confirming that the LPOSD superintendent will be taking his next career step across state lines. Woodward replaces retiring school district superintendent Tom Rockefeller and will start the new job July 1.

“In verbally accepting the position Mr. Woodward expressed his sincere thanks for the opportunity and excitement to serve as Mead’s next superintendent,” the Mead School District posted on its website.

Woodward replaced previous LPOSD superintendent Dick Cvitanich in 2012. The implementation of a homeschool academy, the addition of options for experiential learning and generally high student achievement marks are highlights of his time with the district.
